[Z] Rod of Havoc ?

Hi,

I am currently playing Z-Tk in V. 2.4.0.5 and I wonder what a Rod of
Havoc will exactly do and if it's actually useful. The shopkeeper in the
magic shop will give me all that he has (some 25 k gold).

Just did this and the pack of sweet water hounds that surrounded me was
gone :), can I rely on that ?

IIRC Rod of Havoc is more powerful version of Wand of Wonder (much
more). But I might well remember this wrong. So try it few times to find
out what it really does before relying to it.

Why not just try it out?

I believe he is asking for a spoiler, and trying it will not tell
exactly what it does.

SPOILER SPACE (this spoiler is old, so it is maybe not accurate):




















12.5% of the time ,it fires radius 2 balls for 75 damage in every direction
4.2% of the time, it fires beams for 75 damage in every direction
27.8% of the time ,it creates a radius 8 ball for 300 damage, centered
on you
13.9% of the time ,it fires a 150 damage beam, prompting for direction
41.7% of the time ,it launches a 150 damage ball on a prompted grid with
a radius of 3 ,if plev<35, 4 otherwise.

The type of damage (element) is random.
